On the Cheap: Ebay is your friend!

Hello my lovelies! How are you today? Yes, finally bringing this back with a whole new post! Ebay is your friend! And boy have I felt that recently!

Imagine this heart is ebay
This post is mainly going to be about cheap fashion, as I think buying clothes cheaply is just as important as everything else! As you might remember, in this month of July I am doing a challenge where I only buy clothes and a few other things 2nd hand!! So obviously, I looked to ebay, as well as Charity stores, which are also your friend, but that's another post ;)

Many of you know of ebay, in fact, I would be surprised if you haven't! Ebay is the largest online auction site and have websites for all over the world. You can buy ANYTHING on ebay, and I mean ANYTHING! There have been stories of people selling their virginity! I don't you can sell your pet on there...at least, I haven't seen any!

Now this post is about buying clothes on ebay. Especially if you are on a budget, like I am! The first thing I say about buying clothes on ebay is know what you want!! Say you are looking for a lovely new dress, then look for only dresses!
Another tip I have is only bid on one thing at a time, as you never know what you might actually win and you don't want to risk getting a bank charge for going over your limit!
To further help yourselves, I suggest giving your self a budget for each item. I never go over £10 including p&p if I am buying something second hand. I rarely go over £5 if I can help it!

You can find the loveliest things on ebay, often by sellers who haven't even worn them! Heres a couple of my recent purchases:
Gorgeous Pink Nighty  ~ I only had to pay £3.20 for this, plus £1.50 for the P&P and I was thrilled! If you are familiar with ebay, you will know about 'Snipers', which are buyers that put a bid in at times even as little as 10 seconds left, VERY annoying! I was highly expecting to be outbid (since I put a max bid of £4) or sniped on this and I wasn't which made me so happy!!

Lovely Silky Nightwear ~ As you can see I have a thing of buying more lady like night wear at the moment, I am highly bored of unattractive tracksuit type pants and a baggy t-shirt! I don't mind t-shirt nighties, which are very comfy, but I think that might be the limit for sloppy night wear for me now! As you can see for these, I payed pittance. £3.20 all together, which I think is brilliant!

Shoooes ~ Now, some of my older followers might think, huum, I recognise these Kitty! That is because my faithful pair of M & S shoes that I have loved all the way to New York and back are falling apart. It was a sad time for me when I noticed a hole in my shoe, realising I will finally have to throw them away. So I search ebay for a new pair of rubber type shoes for when its raining and LO AND BEHOLD I spot these. I nearly cried with happiness! As you can see, I was quite desperate to buy these, though my current pair are size 6, they are a bit on the tight side so fingers crossed, 7s should be okay! I put a bit more money into this bid, just because I was so desperate to buy, but I wouldn't of gone over £8 no matter how desperate! Someone did try to snipe me at the last moment, but my max bid buffed them out, YAY!

Now, I will warn you, darlings, of the sometimes dangers of buying/selling on ebay. I have only ever had one bad encounter, out of many so don't be too scared. But CHECK THE RATINGS! And read the negative ones very carefully if there are any! I feel, if they have over 10 negatives in 1 month, don't buy from them, especially if one of the negative comments is about an item the same or similar to what you want to buy!

That's it for todays 'On the Cheap' I hope you enjoyed my little insight to ebay and the wonders it holds! What do you think of ebay, have you bought anything nice from it recently?

STAY BEAUTIFUL!!

Hello Darlings!

As you know, I have been off for a bit! At first I was just busy, and a little sad. Then I was a bit lazy, and then I was sad again! I have decided to be very honest with you, my beloved followers, and tell you I am prone to depression, as I am sure a lot of you are! The smallest thing can get me down and make me not want to put any effort into anything! At the moment, it is because my and the beau have had a small falling out, and, being a long distance relationship, there is not much I can do but wait till he wishes to speak to me again. This makes me feel terribly sad and alone inside, which used to stop me from doing anything. But not any more.

Over the past couple of months, I have come to the realisation that this will not do! I am 23, a growing woman, no longer a sulky teenager, and I must begin to act as such. I am not being harsh on myself, I am the kind of girl who is overly emotional, and its terrible and I fight against it. It will no do crying in front of people any more!

So, I begin my journey into becoming a woman. My own woman. And not just a woman, a lady. My views can be somewhat...archaic and some of you might not agree with me, but please do not judge me! I will be happier this way, I can promise you! I don't wish to be skinny (though I do need to loose weight darlings!) or a model, but myself, a gorgeous woman, just like all the other women out there. Because, we are all gorgeous. And we are all goddesses inside! And does a goddess let these things take her out!? NO!

I hope this doesn't sound preachy, I truly apologise if it does! I am simply speaking about a change that will come over me. I will speak better, I will not swear (well, apart from maybe when I stub my toe, as I often do!), I will not act unlady like in public (I am sure even the most lady like of lovelies passes wind at home!) I will dress presentably (apart from Sundays, when I can slob out) I will wear lovely make up (again, apart from Sundays) and I will take note of blogs like this (which I LOVE LOVE LOVE!) : To Be A Lady

As I said, to some, the ideas seem archaic. To me, they seem simply brilliant. Its the life I have been searching for (I've tried hippy, emo, goth, tom boy, everything! But I am happiest in a pretty dress and lovely make up!) and I am determined to make myself happier!

Heres what I plan to do (A proper list!):
Do my routines properly, no faffing!
Lose weight! I am severely over weight for my height!
Look my best
Wear what I feel most comfortable in! I love wearing dresses, heels, even under dresses (which I will slowly invest in) I would never wear anything I am uncomfortable in, its just not me!
Take a day off! Sundays will always be my day off <3
Try to be more understanding and less judgemental. Theres too much negativity going on these days without us ladies ripping each other to pieces and being arrogant about those less IQ inclined (I have a short temper when I think people are being particularly slow, its quite horrible!)
Be more forgiving, more loving. Everyone deserves love.
Make my environment happier. I need to do my room as I don't think it really reflects me as a person
Become a Beauty Therapist either in Make Up or Spas

I do apologise for such a long post. But even thinking about it makes me swell with happiness inside. I know I can achieve my goals, because, if you try your hardest, you can achieve anything!

If you lovelies have any hints, tips, advice or even just thoughts on this, I would love to hear them!

I am not keen on negative comments, as I am emotionally fragile right now, so I beg you keep them to a minimum, but if you really must comment negatively, please leave an excellent reason why!

Beauty Post! Make Up Academy MUA Lipsticks Ahoy!

Hello there girlies!! Since I am just getting back into blogging after a while off, I am going a bit slow :P Though doing quite well, I think! Thursday are usually beauty reviews, but I was very busy yesterday cleaning!! So I have pushed it back till today (and am glossing completely over the issue of my diet and weight ;) )

So today, I will be doing a quick (well, I say quick at the beginning...) review of the MUA lipsticks I own! There is 13 in the collection and I believe I own 11 of them, so most of them! I LOVE MUA, so much!! They are so cheap (all these lipsticks are a £1) and they are very good value for money!

As you can see, they are a very good range of pinks and reds!! Perfect for me, who is not that daring with colours (I only just bought a lavender lipstick in the past month, as you saw a few blogs back!) and these are perfect for me! I believe they all suit me, but you never know if thats just me being hopeful ahaha ;)

Heres what they look like on my arm (if you want to see a certain colour on my lips, please ask!):
Shades: 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 12, 13
If you asked me my favourite, I would not be able to tell you D: I like them ALLLLLL. I would say my top five are: 12, 5, 3, 7 and 13!! Not always in that order, keh keh keh, my mind changes so much!

So I will be doing a mini review on each one, in order, starting wiiithhh:

Shade 2:
I might of accidently squashed the top, ekekekek
First one on the left
Shade 2 is a lovely plumy red colour, and I believe the first MUA lipstick I bought, as I wanted to try the brand and try a lipstick in a similar colour to a GOSH lipbalm I had! It goes on really nicely and can be a little sheer on the first application, but colour can be built nicely with layers! The swatch above is a one swipe application, so you can see it is reasonable in pigmentation! It stays on quite well, but is prone to drinking and   eating wear and tear! It doesn't have any sparkles, and is a little bit matte, but mainly shiney!

Shade 3:

Second from left
Shade 3 is a bright punchy pink! I love this shade for a pop of colour on my lips! It goes on nicely, and is very pigmented! Its quite shiny but not glittery and it has staying power, but same as most of them, it can fade while eating and drinking!

Shade 4:
May of also got squished :P
Third from left
This shade is lovely if you want a subtle pink sheen to your lips. This is a couple of applications and goes on your lips quite sheer, giving it a pink tint. Its very shiny and if you like subtle light pink lips, this is for you!! It has no glitter in it, but is a such a pretty and girly colour! Great if you want to wear something but don't want it to be too OUT THERE! This needs application a bit more than the darker shades.

Shade 5:

Fourth from left
I love this shade! Its a very pale and pink glittery lipstick! When applied, it goes on nice and sheer, adding a very subtle pink colour and a punch of tiny silver flecks of glitter!! It is very pretty if you want a subtle glittery colour on your lips!!

Shade 6:
First on the left (ignore the glittery one to the left of it, barely seen, thats just shade 5)
This colour is a good my lips but better colour (especially on my mum!) Its a more rose coloured pink, a bit darker but quite sheer when applied to lips, above is one application. Its pretty if you just want a subtle colour on your lips, if you have lips the same colour as me and my mum that is ahah! I think this is the kinda, one shade suits all lipstick, as me and my mum have very different complexions, I am very pale and shes very tan (her dad, my granddad, was Pakistani. I took after my very english dads side :C ) Staying power is good, it is shiny, but falls victim to food and drink.

Shade 7:

Orange colour, 2nd from left
This colour is a the orange toned pink of the range :D Its a lovely orangey pink, not too orange to scare off those who want to try orange but nothing OTT. It is quite pigmented but is very pretty, and quite a pale orange on the lips. Its shiny, but not glittery and has quite good staying power, but falls victim to food and drink!

Shade 8:

3rd from left
This colour is a lovely deep rosey red colour and is good if you want quite a obvious colour on your lips, but still one that goes with your natural lip colour!! Its a great glittery shade too, with a good spread of golden flecks of glitter! This is a brilliant shade for going out, when you want a nice red with a bit extra, and those golden flecks add a lot to it! I do love this shade and wear it out even if I am not going any where special! It can be quite long lasting and slightly resistant to food and drink

Shade 9:

4th from left
Shade 9 is a lovely rose coloured bronze lipstick! Its another great my lips but better colour and goes on a little sheer, but a nice pigmentation for what it is. Its a lovely shiny consistency. I haven't worn this one so much yet (I have over 21 lipsticks hur hur hur I don't rotate them as much as I should...) so I am not too sure on how long it lasts!

Shade 10:
3rd from right
Shade 10 is a great sheer darker shade if you just want a coating on your lips of colour, but don't want to much. Its a lovely dark rose colour and has a great sheen to it. Its brilliant for when you are on the go and just want to apply a quick coat, as it adds a nice sheer colour to your lips, good for work!! Its longevity is OKAAAY, but could be better, and doesn't stay on after eating and drinking!

Shade 12:
I love this one :')
2nd from right
I LOVE THIS COLOUR, its one of my very favourites!! Its a pale but bright pink with LOTS OF GLITTER AND SPARKLE!! The glitter is silver and really pops out (as you can see in the swatch) and looks great on a night out!! I need to stock up on more of these! Its very long lasting and falls a little bit victim to food and drink!

Shade 13:
The shade that never comes off my arm...
1st on the right
As you can see, Shade 13 is a very subtle shade of red 8D I am joking, of course, its the brightest red EVER!! Its a GREAT shade if you love punchy bright reds, this is only one swish with the stick!! Pops really nicely on pale skins and is the most long wearing out of all of them, even surviving the most with food and drink (though some fading occurs) Its still visible on my arm after rubbing it off for ten minutes!!

All the lipsticks have a nice smell to the them, if you are worried about smell. Its a subtle vanilla type smell, its very pleasant! These lipsticks aren't drying that much either, but still remember to put lip balm on before application!

Heres my full range of lipsticks for those who are interested:

Hope you enjoyed my sort of review :D

Fashion in July

Hello girlies!! I have decided, in July, NOT to spend any money on first hand clothes and accessories. This means for the month of July, I will be hitting ebay and charity stores and seeing what I can get for under a fiver (£5) each time! I will be sticking to my £20 monthly clothes and accessories limit, so I am going to see  how much I can get for my money! Wish me luck!!!!

For now, I shall show you the kinda things I am liking this summer and I will choose things from ebay to link too!!

Maxi Dresses!
(Click link for a cute size 12 dress!)

I love maxi dresses, since before they were 'trendy' (hey, check right back to two years ago on this blog and you can see me in a red chinese print maxi dress!) and am always on the look out for new ones! Anything floaty and girly and floral if I can help it! If you are looking for a high street pretty maxi, heres one from H&M (picture above): H&M dress!

Florals
(Click for cute size 10 Yumi dress!)

I love floral prints, from in your face florals to ditzy florals!! Anything with flowers, mainly dresses, makes me think of tea outside, picnics and old timey english! I am mainly a dress person at the moment anyways, prefering them to trousers and skirts, so a floaty, floral maxi dress I could drool over all day, though I don't mind the shorter dresses either to flounce about in ;D And believe me, I do a lot of flouncing! Heres the link for this dress (all items will be from H&M): Floral dress

Lace!
(Click for pretty rockabilly style lace dress, size 14!)

As you probably guessed, by my love of florals and floaty maxis, I probably like lace too ;D Not that I am girly or anything, hahaha! Nothing more girly than a good lacy dress!! Looking at all these clothes makes me want to buy them though, BUT NOT TILL AUGUST!! Link for this lovely lacy dress: Lacy love

These are the main things I am loving this summer (and winter and 2023) and I can't wait to score some bargins from ebay and charity shops! What are your favourites this summer? And do you like charity shopping/ebaying!?

Living on the Cheap: What do you want?

Since my brain is currently a little bit frazzled by the sun and tiredness, I was wondering, what do YOU want me to write about next for my Living on the Cheap feature? Throw any topic at me and I will try and find the cheapest way to go about what you want!!

Just a quick warning, I forgot about connecting to the internet when I get to my mums, sometimes my step dad takes a while to put me back on the network, but I might just get a bus to my dads during the day and go on his laptop, to keep up to date, haha!

Anyways, let me know what you want and I will write about them in the next couple of Mondays!!

I'm Back! My nerdy June

Hellooo!! As promised, I am back from my month off with the boyfie and making a blog!! This shall be blog on what I got up to on my June!! It was a nerdy June, to say the least! WARNING: This blog is photo heavy!!

My boyfriend didn't come up till the fourth, so I amused myself by starting a drawing, since I haven't been drawing much recently;

This was how far I got before my boyfriend came up and distracted me from everything :P He is so naughty!!
To celebrate him coming up, I made a big cake (as I love baking for everybody and anybody!!) and tried something I have never done before, which is a triple layer cake! It was Victoria sponge top and bottom, with red velvet cake in the middle! And lots of jam and butter cream between layers, and covering in icing!
I tell ya, this cake was sooooo good!! NOM NOM NOM!! We managed all of it!

It was still exam season and I had to go to my exams a couple of times, leaving my boyfie behind :( At one point, on my bus on the way home, part of it fell off!
Luckily, it wasn't a vital part and the bus could carry on and take us home till the last stop, then turn his light off. He did advise we didn't stand under it though!!

I did paint my nails during June, using my new cracked polish and tried a gradient look underneath it;
There is light blue on the bottom and then fades into metalic aqua, but you can't really see it in the photo!! I did enjoy looking at my nails all the time when they were like this though, it is very fun!! Sad times for my nail polish collection though, my only Opi nail varnish broke, it was my favourite to put on my toes!

After just under two weeks at mine, and all my exams out the way, me and the boyfie made our way up to Hull, where he lives. It was a miserable day, though, of travel, luckily we were comfy inside all the time! Unfortunately, Nate gets a little coach sick, so next time we are sitting at the front to see if that helps!!
Good bye Portsmouth, hello Hull!

This is an impromptu photo that the boyfie took, as you can tell, when we were in the bus station at Hull at some point, not the day we arrived, but another day! Thats my why are you taking a photo of me smile!!

As some of you might know, I only have a little notebook laptop, its teeny tiny and fitted on Nate's desk so when he had to do something on his PC I could just sit next to him and go on facebook for a bit! And twitter, and occasionally blogger. He was putting Win7 on my notebook for me, so now I am up to date!
My little notebook next to his 24 inch monitor and speakers. At home, I have the same monitor to hook up my laptop too (if I didn't, I would go mad with that tiny screen all the time!) This was before Win7 when I was originally on Ubuntu, because something went wrong with my Windows XP hard drive. Nate worked out that it wasn't my laptops hard drive connector, luckily, and installed a new SSD so I could have Win7!! Thats just part of the nerdyness, most of our time was spent playing computer games (Portal 2, Amnesia, Deus Ex, The Witcher 2) and watching movies!!
Here is a random photo of his little sister and you see that scary looking flesh blob in the background? Thats the best photo I got of my boyfriends front xD Hes photo shy! He looks kinda creepy in this, like an Amnesia monster or something!!
I did remember to take ONE outfit photo (aren't I great at remembering things, one in a month :P)
Love this skirt, its so comfy!! £1 from a Primark sale!! Just slip it on and slip it off, stretch and comfy and doesn't make me look that fat!! Bonus! The only problem with it, is that it rides up while you walk! This is mainly the fault of my big bum though!
Hello bloggers!! Yes, those nails are very chipped!! I didn't have any nail varnish remover and it was driving me crazy having badly chipped nails, but I didn't want to pick them off, cause thats bad for my nails!

That drawing I did, I did eventually finish it, due to the fact of my boyfriend fiddling with my laptop for ages putting Win7 on it and stuff, so I was bored and decided to finish colouring it! Boredom turned into productive creativity, whoop!
Its one of my characters called Kyo, he is a fire Angel and a Summoner of fire creatures. More about him will be on my nerd blog shortly!!
I also managed to start a new picture, including starting to colour it! Heres how far I have got at the moment;
You can see the full drawing here

Close up of the colouring I have started
I am trying to improve on my colouring and drawing!! One day I will be awesome at it *false hopes*
In the last week, Nate ordered some under bed storage, as underneath his bed was a mess! Men are so unorganised!! I sorted his clothes for him, made him chuck out a lot of stuff and seperated what was left into different boxes so it was easier for him! I wonder if he will keep it that neat though...t-shirts in one box, trousers in another sort of thing!
Good bye under bed storage, I hope you stay as organised as I left you!!
We also ordered a massive 16inch pizza one night, GOOD GOD IT WAS GOOD. Not excellent, but still amazing!!
I couldn't capture the hugeness of it, but it was big, I have never had a 16incher before!! What let it down, was the fact they had put kidney beans on it, even though it didn't say kidney beans, and that made it weird :/ Apart from that though, it was one good pizza!

At the end of the night, on the second to last night, Nate was sorting some songs out for me and I got bored, so decided to put a bow in his hair. I put it to the side at first and he took it out almost immediately. But then I sneakily put it on the back of his head and he didn't realise for ages till I told him! Didn't even notice me taking a photo! BWUAHAHAHAAHAHA
Isn't he a pretty boy :')

I came home on Saturday, and tonight I went to a pub quiz with my dad. It was a generally chill day today, just relaxing after struggling through the hell that was London's underground. My arms and shoulders still hurt from the massive detour I had to take due to the Victoria line being closed!! And people in London are very rude :( Always shoving past me even though I had two heavy bags and a big suitcase!

So thats my (very long) update!! I hope you feel you are all up to date and will forgive me for not being online! I am back nooow!
See you tomorrow! Now time to answer my comments *flexes fingers*
