Personal Goals for 2013!

Hello 2013! And hello to all my readers that still read these! Thank you for sticking around so long and not giving up when I thought I did!

Looking back over 2012, I am not quite sure what to think of it! It was an on and off year, I suppose, more off than on, but I plan to use the energy I saved up in 2012 to make 2013 one heck of a year! I did some awesome things in 2012, like attended my first festival, went to Crete, got a job. But mentally, 2012 was a bit of a downer for me, so making 2013 a recovery!

Why is this post so late, I hear you cry?! It's nearly February, I hear you cry?! I know, I know, don't worry! I planned all along to kick it off again around this time! What's the point in writing a New Years Resolution blog when by mid January we would all be tucking back into those left over Celebrations from Christmas, the gym long forgotten! Instead, I am making Personal Goals for the year!

I want to achieve more this year and make my life better for myself, not just short term goals, but long term ones too. I felt like my flare and passion for life had died a little in 2012, so I am bringing it back in 2013, I'm going to light myself up (like the fourth of July).

Now, on to those personal goals!

1. Finish a story! (aka Write a 50,000 novel in 31 days because you are a crazy fool)
~With this one, I have started already, though I fell behind last week when I got ill, but I am picking it back up today, I WILL get this done!! I have always written stories, and love writing, but I have never completed one! So this year, I told myself, I want to complete one of my stories, and then this escalated into the challenge of writing 50,000 words in 31 days...I AM CRAZY. But I will do it, I can feel it in my bones. It's even more of a challenge because it's the first sci-fi story I will be writing *le gasp* I usually write fantasy, but sci-fi has always interested me! Wish me luck!

2. Finish AT LEAST one chapter of my comic
~ Yup, another creative one, but I need to get that spark back! And what better way than actually doing my comic! This will be the next creative project after my novel, so once Subject 10 (the novel) is finished, I will move on to starting my comic! I already know what it is about and have Chapter 1 planned out in writing and began drafts, I just need to kick myself up the bum and draw!

3. Lose another stone (and get into healthy eating habits)
~ This one is more a long term goal, as I want to lose a bit more weight and then I will be happy with myself and I want to get into the good habits of eating healthily. I don't want to diet, I want to change my lifestyle! If I can get into good habits and lose weight, it will help keep the weight off!

4. GET FIT
~ I need the stamina. I get worn out after a brisk walk for 20 minutes. I want to build up my stamina so I can enjoy life more! I want to go for long nature walks, walk up hills, mountains, conquer places I have never been before, walk all the way around Portsmouth, stuff like that! I want to have the stamina to keep up with my boyfriend (NOT in the way you are thinking :P Or is it...;D ). Getting fit and healthy will give me that energy boost and stamina boost to live life the way I WANT to!

5. Blog More!
~ Because I was terrible at it in 2012! I love blogging, but I just didn't do it enough, and I totally want to get back into it, not just on this one, but on my media one too, where I will be reviewing local events as well as films, games and music! I don't want to be blogger famous, I just want to bring people good reading! If you have any tips or ideas for me, just comment below!

6. Save up enough money to do what I want!
~ This is a grouped one, because I want to go on holiday, and build my PC, and other things! But I am terrible at saving money, so this one will be a challenge for me! I've already started a budget sheet where I write down my daily spends on it and money coming in and out! This month I'm not doing too well...but I am trying haha!! Once I get my computer, I can do things like make a video game, edit drawings on photoshop, and review games better!! So over all, saving money would improve my life, haha!

7. Be a better girlfriend
~ Because I am a bit selfish to be honest, so this one I am dedicating to my boyfriend so I can make him happy. which will make me happy!

So there you have it, that's my personal goals for 2013! I've already started working on one or two, its baby steps, but I will get there! I will be happier by the end of the year, not a new me, but an improved me! Kitty 2.0!

STAY BEAUTIFUL and thank you for reading!

Yatta! is a brilliant magazine for those interested in things like gaming, Japanese culture, literature and other young peoples art! The target audience for Yatta! is 13 - 19 but I think it can appeal for those up to about 25, if you are interested in those kind of things! The events we do are usually a mix of local artist selling their wares (including me) art competitions, cosplay competitions, Rockband, Pokemon tournies, Super Smash Brothers Brawl, presentations and cupcakes!

If Yatta! sounds like your kind of thing, please check out the various links below!

Things to do on a ME Day!

BEFORE I START, I would like to credit the lovely Rae, from Sickbunny for this blog, and the ideas are mostly taken from the blog that should be found HERE if the link goes well haha! This is basically my own twist on it! And don't worry, I got her permission first!!

Every one should have a ME day once a week. For me, its Sunday. Sometimes I add an extra one on Tuesday, but its mostly Sundays. I HEAR BY MAKE IT LAW TO EVERYONE TO HAVE A ME DAY.
And heres some things you can do to make your me day you! I do some of these things, some of the things I took from Rae's post!

One: Watch Favourites in Bed

I love it when a plan comes together
I love watching TV or films in bed, how about you? And what a perfect thing to do on a You Day than relax on your bed, with a cuppa or hot chocolate, and watch your favourites!! Personally, I will be watching Ghost Rider today in bed! 9pm, Channel 5 for those in England. I usually leave my laptop alone when doing this, and just enjoy the film!

Two: Play A Game!

Beat those stress trolls!
In the world of electronics, we all usually have some sort of gaming platform in our possession, from a phone, to your laptop/PC to the current gen consoles. I personally have my DS and Xbox 360 to game on, and I find  even fifteen minutes of Dragonquest on my DS is soothing to my soul. I find games like DQ and Fable 3 and Final Fantasy (any apart from the MMO's ) to be the most soothing as I can get out my frustrations in life by beating up monsters and baddies!! It may sound geeky, but gaming is a good stress reliever!

Three: Bake!

Nom nom nom
I love to bake. LOVEEEE. And making your own little pieces of nommy is extremely satisfying! Make that cake that you haven't dared try yet! Bake a batch of cupcakes and shake with friends over a cuppa! I suggest hand whisking, as now I am hooked on it as you can beat out any stress and you have to concentrate on the whisking, rather than anything stressful around you!

Four: Get Creative!

Draw anything that makes you happy!
Write. Draw. Sew. Glue. Anything! Take some time to make something pretty. I like to write and draw and also it can be productive if you want to finish something creative off ;D I have many self inflicted art projects that I like to doodle and sketch through the week!

Five: Paint your nails

001110101010110
I paint my finger nails Mondays, so I do my toes on Sundays! Painting your nails is so girly and I don't know about you, but painting my nails a lovely colour always brings a smile to my face, even during the week when ever I see them!

Six: Take a Long Bubble Bath!

Make up and hair ribbon are optional.
DO THIS. If you do just one thing from this list DO THIS. At 8pm or when ever you have time in the evening, run the hot tap, go over board with the bubbles, even chuck in a Lush ballistic or other brand melt, and relax among the fluffy bubbly fragrances and do what ever you want. I like to apply a fifteen minute mask and shave my legs personally. And read. Reading in the bath is a must. If you like candles, light some fragranced candles. Like music? Bring a portable music player with speakers (like a radio) and play some music or tune into your favourite radio station. This bath time is YOURS and yours alone. Frisky baths with the other half are for  other days ;D

Seven: Read a Book

Or read many books. Its up to you!
Sitting some where comfy and reading a book you love, or exploring a new book, is love. At the moment I read 'How to Walk In High Heels' during the day, an old favourite book of mine, read it if you haven't, and will be starting 'Inkheart' tonight for an hour before sleep. I love digging in to a good book right before bed, I sleep better!

Eight: Go for a Walk or Bike Ride (weather permitting)

Wish it was sunny all the time!
I wouldn't suggest going for a walk up a big hill like I did last Saturday, as those things aren't for everyone, but just being out and about for half an hour or more in the fresh air makes you happy. Especially if you aren't walking anywhere in particular. Or bike riding. I love riding my bike in Summer, but I've only ever gone for a walk in Winter. Perhaps I should try my bike too!!

Nine: Write a Blog

Anywhere anytime!
You don't even need to publish it. Just write some things down that you would want to share, even if you only jot them down in a journal, maybe to share for another day. Sharing your thoughts and feelings on the interwebs may seem a bit daunting, but most people out there are actual darlings and you shouldn't be scared of them!

Ten: Dance like Crazy to Your Favourite Music

Friend optional
Jigging around in your room, even for ten minutes, can be so much fun and also counts towards a little bit of exercise ;D I like singing and dancing along to Disney songs personally as theres nothing more uplifting than your favourite childhood film!

Eleven: Tidy up some Clutter

My room never looks this tidy..
Now, I know what you are saying. Hang on a minute Kitty, tidying isn't relaxing!! BUT WAIT. You know that feeling when you've tidied up that bit of clutter you've put of for ages, and now it looks all nice and neat? Thats a GOOD feeling, isn't it! SO embraaace it and you will feel much better not having to worry about that untidy bit.

Twelve: Make a schedule for the Week

Make your own, its more fun!
Another groan I hear?! Well, don't you just hate when you don't know what you are doing or you haven't got anything done that you wanted. Planning out your week will help that! You can get things sorted just by doing this in half an hour. You can even make your schedules pretty (I will show you tomorrow) by using different colours! Pin it up somewhere you can see it everyday, and you will know exactly what you should be doing and when! Useful if you often forget appointments and things!

Things I suggest NOT to do on a YOU Day:

  • Watch the news. Bleh, always boring or depressing anyways. You can always catch up tomorrow
  • Stress about stuff. That stuff will still be there Monday, don't worry about it today!
  • Force yourself to do anything. If you don't feel like it, don't do it! I don't do everything on this list every Sunday!
  • Get up early if you can help it. I have one day a week an alarm doesn't wake me up. Sunday is it!
  • Go shopping. I don't suggest doing this at the weekend at all. I loathe week end shopping crowds. My fav day to go is Thursdays or Tuesdays
  • Diet. Eat the hell what you want, as long as you aren't shoving ten full sized chocolate sponges, I am sure it won't hurt your diet.
I hope you liked my list and thanks again to Rae for letting me pinch her ideas and for thinking this up in the first place!! Remember to check out her blog!!
