Living on the Cheap: Deal With Spots!

Welcome to the second edition of Living on the Cheap! Lets get on schedule shall we!!

Todays edition is about spots. Spotty spot spot spots!! Everyone gets them! If you don't you are soooo lucky!! Get off my blog you non spotty person :P I am joking, I love you all!! But spots are so horrid, I get them usually around a certain time of the month (you know what I mean) where they break out around my chin!!  It annoys me they are in such a visible area!!
Urg, spots!
There are so many products on the market aimed at spots that scream YOU MUST BUY US OTHERWISE YOU WILL BE AN OILY SPOTTY MESS!! And they cost over a fiver!!
Well, the stuff I am going to show you is both things I advise you to buy (for less than a fiver) and also at home treatments for a quick zap!!

The products:
TEA TREE. I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH. TEA. TREE. If you are allergic/reactive to it, then I cannot help you as tea tree is my spot GOD. I will try and research non tea tree stuff next time though! I heard witch hazel can be similar!  But seriously, for those who haven't tried it, tea tree is god. I have this tea tree stick from Superdrugs:

I love this! I just unscrew it and pop it on the offending spot when I am out and about! Its only £2.99, which is pretty cheap for a spot treatment!!
Something else I recommend you keep in your bathroom cupboard is a good bottle of tea tree oil!!

A 10ml bottle shouldn't set you back more than £3 if you are in England, and hopefully you can find them cheaper in your country too!! These little bottles will last you a long time, as they usually come with a dropper type top, and you can put a couple of drops on a cotton bud, then dab it on the offending spot! I like to use this if I have a particularly pesky spot!

other things you can use; I have heard Witch Hazel is gentler but has the same effect, so look for products with that!! Remember, buy cheap, they work just as well as those £10 products!!

Home treaments:

Tooth paste is a scary unusual thing to kitty
Tooth paste. Surely you all have tooth paste in your house?! I hope you have...any-ways, moving on from my worries about your mouth hygiene, tooth paste is a god send if you have nothing like tea tree or need an over night emergency treatment! Just dab a bit onto the spot and perhaps cover with a tissue. Wait for it to dry before you go to bed, otherwise it might make a mess! In the morning, it should of dried up your spot, reduced redness and made it generally a bit less OMG!!

Perfume!! Another good (though can be harsh on some sensitive skins so be careful!) drier outer of spots that you have in your house!! This one is more like a quick time treatment, where you spritz a bit on a cotton bud, dab and go. You smell nice and your perfume is working on that spot!!

Please be careful when trying new things! I have sensitive to normal skin, and these things react okay with me, but everyone is different!! Try a little bit on a non icky bit of skin on your face first (I suggest jawline) to make sure you don't react!!

Other things I recommend: Tea tree toner is brilliant for morning and night routine, and mudd/clay face masks! The mask I love best is 99p and I squeeze it in a pot, which lasts me longer if I just used it straight from the packet!!

Stay beautiful!!
